Barton House Memory Care by Novellus Living is looking for a competent Resident Care Technician provides personal care, companion care, nursing assistance and other assigned tasks to residents. Duties and assignments may be adjusted at the discretion of the Resident Care Coordinator Director based on an evaluation of resident needs.ResponsibilitiesProvides companion care as listed on resident's plan of careProvides or assists in bathing or showering for thorough cleanliness and hygiene of residentAssists residents in dressing when needed and demonstrates concern for individual privacy while providing resident careAssists residents to schedule medical appointments or other vital services as indicated by the resident's plan of careMay be requested to accompany resident to appointments at the direction of the Resident Care Coordinator, Memory Care Manager, Wellness Nurse, or DirectorPromotes appropriate levels of independence in resident care and demonstrates awareness of safety for both resident and self in providing careAssists resident with simple range of motion or other exercises as directed by nurse or therapist and ambulates resident according to hisher endurance levelsWhen directed by the plan of care, assists resident to site fitness program or individual planned eventsApplies medical or adaptive devices as ordered by the appropriate physician, physician extender, or supervising nurseMay be requested to assist in collecting specimens as directed by the Resident Care Coordinator, Memory Care Coordinator, or Wellness NurseAssists with activities, including participating andor leading activities per Activities Manager and Resident Care Coordinator, Memory Care Coordinator, or Wellness Nurse InstructionsMay assist in resident meal service, based on community needsPerform other duties as assignedSkillsAdaptability and strong organization and time management skillsExcellent resource management, computer, record keeping, interpersonal, decision making, and verbal and written communication skillsPatience and compassion when dealing with others, especially those who are sick, injured, elderly, or from different backgroundsFlexibility to work when needed, especially evenings, weekends, or early morningsWillingness to adhere to and enforce all safety policies and proceduresHigh school diploma requiredSix (6) months experience in providing personal care in a residential or long-term care setting preferredPowered by JazzHRF9IzLarj3P
