Summary The Systems Engineer leads the requirements analysis, tracking and verification for hardware development programs.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Analyze customer inputs to define requirementsDerive System and Component requirementsDefine hardware system architecture and design approachProvide SystemSubsystem tradeoff analysis and design supportDevelop and conduct program test plans mitigate risk and verify requirementsInterface with customer for requirement tracking and testing witnessSupport engineering demonstrator andor test units, conduct testing, and analyze test resultsPerform technical writing tasks: requirements, procedures, and reportsProvide program proposal development supportConduct cost estimating, planning, and scheduling of System Engineering effortsCreate program documentation to support contractual deliverables.Qualifications and Education Requirements Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering or similar technical disciplineMinimum 2 years engineering experiencePrefer minimum 2 years experience in hardware Systems EngineeringExperience using software tools for requirements, document control, and workflow management (prefer experience with DOORS, Windchill, and JIRA)Experience preparing and presenting program milestone reviews for customersHands-on testing and debugging complex systems in a labtest facility environmentProven ability to develop innovative solutions both individually and part of a teamStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information to technical and non-technical audiences including peers, management and customersPreferred Skills and Experience:Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)Simulation and training systems experienceExperience designing electrical andor fluid (hydraulicpneumatic) systemsKnowledge of structural standards and building codesUnderstanding and application of Earned Value Management (EVM)Functional experience with programming andor database administrationExperience with Computer Aided Design, especially Creo or SolidworksSecurity Responsibilities Must comply with all company security and data protection usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources. Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
