Summary of Position:The Onboarding Specialist will assist the Talent Acquisition Coordinator and the HR Director in providing support for onboarding new hires.Philosophy Statement:Individuals employed by Adapt of the Hudson Valley. shall embrace a team-based, person-centered approach in facilitating opportunities for people we serve to reach their personal goals and desires.Background/Education Required:High school and or GED equivalent. College credits are a plus. One-year experience in onboarding required, in the Human Services or related field preferred.Physical Requirements for Position:1. Detailed computer work and strong knowledge of Excel.2. Sits for majority of day3. Normal Office Environment4. Ability to learn HRIS and other as needed programs.5. Fast paced environment with flexible schedule.Special Requirements for Position:1. Valid driver's license that meets agencies and insurance company's standards (ongoing throughout tenure)2. Completion of all mandatory training sessions and medical documents required by organization and regulatory agencies.3. Completion of fingerprinting requirements and subsequent clearance by OPWDD/OMH and agency guidelines.4. Position may require travel to all agency sites.5. Position may require travel to off agency sites for recruitment events. At times, events may be outside of normal working hours.6. Excellent written and verbal communication.7. Confidentiality a must.12. Attention to detail.13. Ability to work well within a team.Duties & Essential ElementsCORE Job Responsibilities:1. Responsible for new hire tracking for agency, including applicant processing, and reporting.2. Maintains database of new hires processed by agency and follows up with managers regarding outstanding paperwork and field observations in their possession.3. Ensures that all required documents from new hires such as employment applications, education verification, and references are received and complete.4. Perform employee onboarding process including creating personnel files, triggering background screenings including SCR, SEL, MHL, CBC, EPS, and checking new hire paperwork.5. Coordinates and maintains PPD results for new hires to ensure they are completed in a timely manner prior to Pre-Service Orientation (PSO).7. Prepare and send New Hire Orientation List and prepare employee ID's.8. Responsible for processing new hires files for agency, ensuring they are complete and in accordance with New York State Justice Center background clearances.9. Notifies managers when new hires have completed NSO and are cleared to work.10. Maintains a safe, orderly work environment11. Performs other duties as requested or required on day to day basis.Range $18.00 - $20.00 Per Hour
