A nonprofit services organization in New York City is looking to add a new Social Service Supervisor to their growing team in Brooklyn. In this role, the Social Services Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the Case Managers working in shelters provide quality services to families as well as providing supervision to Case Managers.About the Opportunity:Start Date: ASAPAssignment Length: OngoingSchedule: Monday to FridayHours: 9am to 5pm Setting: Women's ShelterResponsibilities:The Social Services Supervisor (MSW) will:Provide comprehensive case management, including individual and group counseling services and other appropriate support services to clientsSupervise the Case Managers and provide coaching, training, and staff development as neededManage the shelter's multidisciplinary teamProvide crisis intervention, oversee day-to-day case management services and ensure weekly case conferencesEnsure all Case Managers conduct an initial needs assessment with new families within 48 hours of arrival at the shelter and begin to develop an Individualized Living Plan (ILP)Ensure the Case Managers are provided with orientation and training related to their responsibilities in maintaining the Uniform Client ChartEnsure the Case Managers maintain current and accurate confidential case records with all required documentationEnsure clients receive essential services including mandated substance abuse treatment and mental health servicesSchedule and attend client monthly house meetingsPerform other related duties as needed.Qualifications: 3+ years of experience with Family and/or single Adult Residential Counseling ServicesMaster's Degree in Social WorkFamiliarity with EBP, MI, and TIC.Able to work with at-risk populations, including Domestic Violence survivors, clients with Medical & Mental health issues, and the Chronically HomelessnessFamiliarity with Entitlement systems & proceduresComputer savvyMicrosoft Office proficientSolid assessment, clinical, and documentation skillsGreat interpersonal skillsExcellent communication skills (written and verbal)Strong attention to detailHighly organizedDesired Skills:1+ year of experience in a Supervisory roleBilingual (English and Spanish)Working knowledge of Substance Abuse issuesKnowledge of CARES
