Our clients consist of most major pet food companies, and we invite you to join us in our efforts to champion sustainability, advance research, and discover innovative solutions to eliminate food waste.Install, maintain, and repair various machinery, equipment, physical structures, plumbing, electrical systems, and different types of ammonia refrigeration equipment. While doing so, following all the regulatory and company safety standards, policies, and procedures.Perform upgrades to refrigerated warehouse space with the Maintenance/Engineering team as required.Maintain existing warehousing & production facilities in effective operating condition.Inspect and repair machinery and facility systems like electrical and plumbing to avoid equipment failures and Downtime.Coordinate project status with supervisor to prevent unplanned production downtime.Required to work on all mechanical equipment repairs and maintenance programs, including supporting the development of a NORPEL PSM program and a PM program.Attend calls on lines, working on planned and unplanned Maintenance work.Complete Work Orders to include Annual, Monthly, Weekly, and Daily PM's.Support and manage Maintenance and Engineering projects as needed.General building maintenance including light electrical.Occasional repairs on material handling equipment.Working with production leaders to improve efficiency of equipment and lines.Qualifications:2+ years mechanical and electrical experience maintaining forklifts and warehouse equipment or combination of experience and trade school.Previous experience in facility/factory refrigeration areas is desired.Ability to follow plans for repair and maintenance.Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques.Excellent communication skills.Knowledge of hand and power tools such as drills, grinders, and sanders in the setup and fitting for welding or finishing welds.Physically capable of lifting as much as 100 pounds and carrying 50 pounds.Must demonstrate strong problem-solving ability.Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.Effective problem-solving abilities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Must be well-organized and can prioritize tasks.Good computer skills.Familiarity with using a CMMS is not required but is a plus.Help drive a Safety Culture in the Facility with the clear understanding that "Safety is Everyone's Responsibility." However, the Maintenance Department is expected to "Lead by example and drive Safety across the entire Facility."High school diploma or GEDExperience with refrigeration equipment operation, maintenance, and repairs of electrical/mechanical systems in a food manufacturing facility is preferred.Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology or relevant field is preferred.Previous experience in facility/factory maintenance, including with conveyor belts, grinders, metal detectors, mills, and evaporators.NORPEL's main objective is to ensure all employees and their families lead fulfilling and healthy lives.
