Job Description for Pharmacy Technician Position Summary: A pharmacy technician in a corrections setting prepares medications under the direction of a pharmacist. May measure, count, label, and record medications according to prescription orders.Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following. Additional duties may be assigned as needed. Receive written prescriptions and/or refill requests and verify that all information is accurate and complete Answer phones and respond to questions or requests Assist customers with locating items and simple questions Refers patients to pharmacist for medication questions and information Clean and help maintain equipment and sterilize glassware. Price and file prescriptions that have been filled Establish or maintain patient profiles Maintain proper storage and security conditions for drugsMinimum Qualifications BLS/CPR certification is required Language: Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language required, bilingual ispreferred Immunization Records - Hep. B, TB test/chest x-ray, influenza for the current season Resume with ReferencesExperience: Twelve months experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience in a pharmacy technician role.Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Pharmacy technician certification preferred but not required for all positions.Required Documentation BLS/CPR certification Immunization Records - COVID, Hep B, TB test/chest x-ray, influenza for the current season Resume with ReferencesMust be able and willing to pass a drug screen and background checkRequirements Must be 21 years of age Must complete the onboarding and hiring process including application(s), documents,competency testing, background investigation(s) and drug screening o Backgrounds must be clear of any felony convictions Must complete all required training as assigned by Action Staffing Solutions and client/facility pre-assignment and annually including but not limited to sharps injury prevention, HIPAA, and cultural awareness. Certifications and Licenses including a current valid driver's license Immunization Records - COVID-19, Hep B, TB test/chest x-ray, influenza for the currentseason o All employees must be fully vaccinated (defined as two weeks following the completionof the full series of the COVID-19 vaccine) and submit documentation proof of COVID- 19 vaccination. Must be able to work with people of diverse backgroundsPhysical Requirements: Due to the nature of correctional facilities physical demands may vary between facilities and day to day, this is not an all-inclusive list. Must be able to see, hear and communicate Must be able to use proper body positioning and body mechanics including toRegularly stand, sit, walk, run, climb, kneel, crouch, bend, twist o Dexterity and fine motor function including strength, control, lifting, reaching and toolusage. o Must be able to lift 20 pounds frequently, up to 50 pounds infrequently, and lift or assistin lifting more than 50 pounds at times. Must possess the physical ability to successfully complete Defensive Tactics training, arequired multiple day in-person training. Scrubs may not be entirely green, red, orange, or yellow (mix and match is allowed) Work setting tasks are performed in close physical proximity to others primarily within an indoor, environmentally controlled condition, and some outdoor settings Work schedules vary depending upon facility and client needs and are arranged through Action Staffing Solutions by the assigned facility. Shift hours may be day, evening, night or rotating, including (but not limited to) 8, 10 or 12 hour shifts. May include weekends and overtime.
