Job Description:

A great UHY client is seeking an Assistant Controller to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 3 - 5 years of general ledger experience, a solid understanding of GAAP and accounting principles, advanced excel experience, and an ability to automate processes.The Assistant Controller role is an onsite position.Assistant Controller General Responsibilities:Month-end close and other accounting activitiesGeneral accounting such as fixed assets, pre-paid, accrualsVarious financial analysisAccount Reconciliations and journal entriesGeneral Ledger processingChart of Accounts MaintenanceAssist with annual review process and interaction with the external auditorsAssist with budgets/forecasting and annual planning processesRegular communication and interaction with all levels of management regarding financial mattersProcess improvement and automationOther accounting/finance duties as assignedAssistant Controller Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field5+ years general accounting experience requiredExperience in a supervisory/management position an assetThorough understanding of GAAP and accounting principlesDemonstrated proficiency with personal computers, and accountingAdvanced excel skillsExperience with accounting process automationVery strong teamwork and collaboration skillsStrong communication skillsAbility to work on site in Buchanan MI 5 days per weekSelf-motivated, ability to initiate and follow tasks through to completionExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational skillsExcellent problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skillsExcellent attention to detail and precision with numbersExcellent time management skills with the ability to multitaskAbility to work with, and maintain, strong confidentialityAbility to foster good employee/management relations, and build a strong team effort to fulfill customers' expectations---------------------------UHY Advisors'"‹ Resource Solutions Group provides clients with accomplished professionals to support finance, accounting, internal audit and tax teams.
