Duties- Perform medical examinations, diagnose illnesses, and provide treatment for a variety of animals- Perform surgeries, including spaying and neutering, tumor removals, and dental procedures.- Administer vaccinations and medications to prevent and treat diseases- Conduct laboratory tests, such as blood work and urinalysis, to aid in diagnosis- Provide emergency care and stabilize critically ill or injured animals- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with legal requirements Qualifications- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited veterinary school- Valid license to practice veterinary medicine in the state- Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and diseases- Proficiency in veterinary critical care, and aseptic technique- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and staff members- Ability to work well under pressure in emergency situations- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and medical equipment Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
