Competently performs M-Mode with calculations, 2-D procedures with all necessary views and calculations, Doppler echo with analysis, all information and data as required, all peripheral vascular procedures including arterial Doppler, venous Doppler, segmental pressures, ankle-arm index, carotid ultrasound, tilt table exams, treadmills, 24 hour holters, and pharmacological studies. Must be able to demonstrate ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient's age-specific needs (i.e. Pediatric Echo or Geriatric Doppler Exam) and anticipate the needs of physician and aware of potential patient problems. Must keep updated on the latest advances in cardiovascular techniques and equipment and be a willing preceptor for new technicians and share knowledge and expertise in mentoring other staff.Knowledge & SkillsMinimum two years previous experience as a cardiac ultrasound sonographer and/or completion of a one year certified cardiac ultrasound courseMinimum two years experience as a vascular sonographer and/or completed a certified vascular sonographer courseMinimum two years experience as a pediatric cardiac sonographer and/or completed a certified pediatric sonography courseMinimum 1 year experience as a Fetal ECHO sonographer and/or completed a certified Fetal ECHO sonography courseRegistered Diagnostic Cardiac Ultrasonographer (RDCS) and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), Pediatric Echocardiography (PE), Fetal Echocardiography (FE) Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast paced environment. Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential. Must be fluent in spoken and written English.
