The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience overseeing construction projects, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, managing project timelines, and coordinating various aspects of the construction process.District OverviewKiewit's Northwest District is headquartered in Vancouver, Washington. We primarily perform heavy civil projects specializing in earth moving, transportation, roadways, water resources, and underground utilities. This means your Kiewit adventure is custom-designed to meet our shared needs.ResponsibilitiesMentor and help to grow fellow Kiewit staffReview and approve the balance of Foremen, journeymen and laborer's composite labor ratesManage contract administration (subcontractor/field management meeting for communication)Develop a program to maintain good client relations involving staff on siteInitiate and attend supplementary and regular meeting with client for problem resolution and planningOversee and approve the monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections Review, approve and negotiate change ordersDevelop and implement a plan for project completion and turnoverMaintain daily diary for record keeping purposesEnsure that all performance evaluations and completed in a timely fashion for direct reportsRecommend, where appropriate, organizational, policy and procedural or staff changesReview and approve or reject promotions up to General Foremen. Qualifications5+ years' work experience in the construction industry, with at least 3+ years in a supervisory role overseeing projects such as roads, bridges, dams, water/wastewater treatment plants etcPrevious knowledge/experience in heavy civil construction setting requiredAdvanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, union agreements and jurisdictional issues, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings and other documents Experience with heavy equipment, earthwork, utilities, traffic control, paving and signageDemonstrated ability to efficiently supervise and evaluate craft performanceA valid driver's licenseMust be willing to relocate temporarily for training or permanently on an as-needed basisMust be able to read and interpret drawings, plans and specifications for railroad / transit construction and maintenance requirementsHighly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives Strong organization, time management, and attention to detailOther Requirements:Regular, reliable attendance Work productively and meet deadlines timelyCommunicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.Perform work safely and effectively.
