This position is based at our national office in downtown Eugene, Oregon, USA. Must be eligible to work legally in the U.S. This is a full-time, regular position in the office.Position ResponsibilitiesAccounting and FinanceManage and conduct all full-cycle accounting functions, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll (Paychex Flex)Complete month and year end closingPrepare monthly financial statements and management reportsImplement cash management processes, including federal fund draws, contract payments, cash balances and transfers as necessaryPrepare and file financial reports for grantors, regulatory agencies and the IRSManage annual audit process and preparation of year end package and ensure timely completion of the audit and 990Manage Cash Flow including providing timely cash flow forecasts to the CEOImplement and monitor accounting policies and proceduresManage and work closely with outside consultants who support the financial and accounting functions (Fastfund and Accounting Firms)Budget ManagementDevelop and monitor monthly budgets and forecasts, by cost center and projectSupport Director of Programs and Program Managers in preparing proposal and program budgetsPrepare and interpret financial reports for program managersSupport managers to administer, manage and monitor program budgetsWork with CEO to prepare and present annual organizational budget for approval by the Board of DirectorsSupport MIUSA's leadership teams to monitor and review staffing patterns and forecasting for effective budgetingSupport MIUSA's leadership teams to forecast, manage and allocate budget funds to ensure that all organizational administrative expenses are fully and appropriately coveredWork closely with CEO to manage donations, including online donations, donor drives and fundraising transactionsAdministrationLiaison with IT consultant(s), and provide oversight of technology inventory, maintenance, upgrades, and repairsLiaison with building manager, and support CEO with office lease negotiationsConduct employee onboarding and offboarding procedures related to finance and technologyMaintain employee personnel filesResponsible for supervising another staff memberAccept any other managerial, administrative or organizational duties, as assignedLeadership and ComplianceParticipate as part of MIUSA's leadership teams, including participation in organization-wide activities, strategic planning, and achievement of programmatic goalsWork with MIUSA's leadership teams to design, implement, manage and maintain internal controls and record-keeping in accordance with the organization's proceduresPrepare, review, and present reports to Board of Directors and MIUSA's leadership teams, including monthly Financial Statements that are in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Provide guidance to MIUSA's leadership teams on 2 CFR 200 to ensure complianceSupport MIUSA's leadership teams to manage and oversee the organization's internal procurement processes and contracts to ensure compliance and consistency; review all contracts in collaboration with the CEO, Director of Programs, and Program ManagersKeep apprised of local, state, and federal regulatory financial and budget requirements to understand the potential impact on the organizationEnsure appropriate insurance coverage is maintained, and maintain relationships with outside insurance brokersSupport MIUSA's leadership teams in all benefits negotiations to provide most competitive and rewarding packages for MIUSA employees, and manage benefits accountsWork with the finance committee of the Board of Directors (BOD) and attend monthly board meetingsKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesProficient in all accounting functions and activitiesKnowledge of GAAP and 2 CFR 200 Uniform GuidanceKnowledge of state and federal grant compliance required (Uniform Guidance Procurement Policies & Procedures - 2 CFR 200, Fly America, SDN and other federal requirements)Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent Excel skills including but not limited to pivot tables and other advanced formula functionsAdvanced proficiency in accounting softwareExcellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders;
