Job Description:Cosmich Simmons & Brown, PLLC is seeking a skilled and motivated Mass and Toxic Tort Litigation Associate Attorney to join its team in the Columbia, South Carolina office. The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of three years of general litigation experience, excellent academic credentials, and strong research, writing, communication, and advocacy skills. The candidate must thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate a track record of high achievement, and work effectively as part of a team. Being admitted to and in good standing with the SC State Bar is essential.Duties:• Conduct legal research and draft legal documents such as motions, briefs, pleadings, and discovery responses.• Take and defend depositions.• Assist in trial preparation and participate in trial proceedings.• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.• Manage caseload and deadlines efficiently.• Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to team efforts.Requirements:• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.• Admission to the South Carolina State Bar in good standing.• Minimum of 3 years of general litigation experience, preferably in mass and toxic tort litigation.• Strong academic credentials.• Excellent research, writing, communication, and advocacy skills.• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, challenging environment.• Track record of high achievement and dedication to professional growth.• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.Education:• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:• Admission to the South Carolina State Bar in good standing.Skills:• Excellent research, writing, communication, and advocacy skills.• Proficiency in legal research tools and software.• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.• Team player with strong interpersonal skills.• Attention to detail and accuracy.Cosmich Simmons & Brown, PLLC serves the needs of large and small businesses and Fortune 500 companies.
