The company is a leading innovator and manufacturer of high-performance door frames and door system components, operating out of four facilities in NC, TX and OR.OverviewThe primary purpose of this position is to effectively coordinate the shipment of finished goods to our customer base in a timely and accurate manner. This position should ensure that all procedures and quality checks are performed on completed orders before shipment.ResponsibilitiesMust have a complete knowledge of all sill components.Learn understand and work with IT to resolve issues with freight scanning and camera system.Ensure that freight operators are working safely by constant follow-up, enforcing safety rules and providing training where appropriate. Must maintain strict enforcement of rotation.Check material and packaging for proper quality ensuring that no freight leaves the dock that is not in good condition.Develop standard work as needed for updated procedures.Ensure that all freight procedures for the staging of freight, the scanning of completed orders, and the loading of completed orders are followed.Identify causes of downtime and bottleneck causing loss of production by keeping material staged, maintenance on equipment, and personnel placement.Exercise excellent housekeeping and organizational habits.Maintain excellent attendance.Complete enforcement of all policies and procedures for the issuing of packing list to accompany all completed orders.Complete enforcement of all trailer counts and policies and procedures as they relate to the loading of all TL and LTL shipments. Minimizing the OS&D issues.Work effectively with all supervisors, lead coordinators, and material handlers to resolve production problems.Provide excellent communication to other plants and departments when coordinating orders and materials.Communicate to Production control when orders that are past performance dates do not shipProvide excellent training of new employees in all areas of the freight department to include staging, prepping, scanning, and material handling and shipping.Back up duties include the packing coordinator and the packing cell lead duties.Handle all communication for invoicing questions and ensure that the proper paperwork is generated and sent for invoicing each day.Maintain at least 3 months of paperwork to ensure that orders may easily be tracked.Complete computer knowledge of the ship list, performance date issues, and other daily functions that apply to the communication of all orders within the shipping freight area.Provide good direction to employees assigned to this area, freight material handlers and clerk.Display independent decision making and demonstrate leadership abilities and professional courtesy.Excellent decision-making while being highly productive under little supervision.Requirements:Have the ability to read a tape measure, caliper and any other measurement tool.Lift 50lbs.Knowledge of hand toolsReliable attendanceBasic writing and math skillsBasic computer skillsEducation & Experience:A High School Diploma or GED certificateOne year of prior manufacturing experience preferred but NOT requiredSet up and operate production machinerySafe Production:Masonite strives to maintain a target 0% safety incident rate.
