Job Description:The Instrument/Electrical Plant Maintenance Engineer is experienced and knowledgeable in the design and maintenance of instrumentation, control systems, and low voltage electrical systems. Working in a team environment, the role carries responsibility for implementing maintenance reliability best practices, developing and optimizing preventive maintenance tasks, and supporting maintenance activities.The position interacts with other technical groups on site including process engineering, capital projects, and maintenance groups, as well as corporate technical networks, peers, and vendors as needed to resolve day-to-day problems and improve plant safety and reliability performance.The role will stay informed of regulatory and industry code changes to ensure design functionality, safety compliance, and utilization of the best available technology. Additionally, this position is responsible for ensuring the plant is maintained in a safe and clean condition.Required Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required in Electrical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Control Systems, or Control Automation Engineering.Minimum Years of Experience: 7 years or more experience required. Preferable industry experience is in petrochemical, chemical, or oil refining. Experience must be as a plant owner's employee in a continuous process.Certificates/Licenses (preferred):Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional (CMRP)Certified Reliability Leader (CRL)Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE)Critical Skills:Working knowledge and proficient understanding and application of international standards including but not limited to:ANSI/FCI 70-2NECNFPA 85 / NFPA 86 / NFPA 70OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119ISO 5167 Parts 2,3,4 / ISO/TR 15377:2018ASME MFC-3M / ASME MFC-14M / ASME PTC 19.3 TWAPI MPMS 14.8Knowledge and experience in utilizing instrumentation engineering software such as:InToolsConval 11 or Instrucalc for flow, level, thermowell sizingFlowserve Performance Nxt for control valve sizingFisher Specification Manager for control valve sizingProficient in all flow, temperature, pressure, and level sensor technology sizing and selection.Proficient in defining and developing PM Optimization (PMO), Predictive PdM related to reliability strategies, technologies, quality, and frequency to provide the most cost-effective outcome for the business.Proficient in control valve theory, sizing, selection, troubleshooting, and including valve ancillary equipment.Proficient in understanding operations of instrumentation equipment within the Complex, including field instrumentation for process measurement (e.g., Pressure, Temperature, Level, and Flow), control valves, shutdown valves, and their transmission systems (e.g., 4-20mA, HART, Wireless HART).Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques, performance analysis, and the ability to solve field problems, as well as familiarity with measurement and control devices from major vendors in the industry.Proficient in reading and understanding:P&IDsPFDsCause Effects matrixOne-line electrical diagramsProcess Hazard Analysis (PHA)Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP)Control logic function blocksPLC ladder logicBoolean logic
