Trustpoint is excited to partner with an Am Law 200 law firm in their search of a Trademark Legal Assistant to support the firm's busy intellectual property practice group on a direct hire basis, in their Chicago office. Successful candidates will have 2+ years' experience in trademarks and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:Manage trademark prosecution dockets; monitor and follow-up on dates for US and foreign trademarks, providing follow-up with attorneys and clientsAssist with new matter opening and intake requests, performing conflict checksPrepare and file trademark applications, extensions of time, statements of use, combined declaration and affidavits, and renewals with the USPTOPrepare and process outgoing correspondence through mail or fax; arrange for specialized mail or messenger services as neededAssist with routine billing inquiries, expenses and invoices reviewCoordinate travel arrangementsRecord assignments and name changes in the USPTO and international jurisdictionsPrepare correspondence, memos, and legal documentsProofread, edit and finalize documents to ensure appropriate formatting, grammar, punctuation, and spellingManage data in integrated databases that contain client and matter informationSchedule meetings, appointments, due dates, client-related activities, and case dates on electronic calendarsOrganize and maintain files, both electronic and physicalRequirements:2+ years' experience in trademarks at a law firm or inhouse legal teamHigh School diplomaExperience with intellectual property docketing systems (e.g. CPi, AltLegal) (preferred)Excellent clerical written communication skills; knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuationProven client service skills in person, over the phone and via emailMeticulous attention to detailProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)Notary (preferred)All candidates must be able to work at a computer screen for a sustained amount of timeQualified candidates are encouraged to submit a resume for immediate consideration.Trustpoint.one provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
