Title: Automation Maintenance TechnicianLocation: Salt Lake City, UtahHours: 12-hour rotating shifts (2 daysnights on, 2 daysnights off)-Night Shift The Automation Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting plant operations concerning automation equipment to meet production goals, enhance process performance, and execute preventative maintenance. This role involves actively managing troubleshooting and preventative maintenance programs to optimize equipment availability, minimize downtime, and streamline production. Tasks are performed within a high-volume, high-speed, light manufacturing environment, encompassing equipment overhauls and new installations.**Essential Duties & Responsibilities:**- Execute basic and routine machine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, checks, and preparation of presses and other production machinery.- Utilize lathes, mills, grinders, sanders, power tools, and hand tools.- Conduct preventative maintenance activities.- Enhance and modify equipment.- Conduct equipment capability studies.- Collaborate with other departments.- Maintain equipment logs.- Coordinate activities to ensure departmental compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including FDA, EPA, OSHA, ISO, EEOC, and internal policies.- Undertake special projects as required.- Demonstrate support through effective communication, positive attitude, dedication, commitment, respect, pride, and trust.**Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications:**- Ability to comprehend and follow procedures.- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Oracle.- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong customer service orientation.- Highly disciplined, logical thinker, problem-solver, and team player with a robust work ethic.- Self-motivated with the capacity to work independently.- Good mechanical aptitude.- Proficiency in safely and effectively using various hand and power tools.- Strong understanding of mechanical principles.- Familiarity with electronics, including PLCs, photo sensors, IO readouts, and data gathering.**Education and Experience:**- High School diploma or equivalent.- Minimum five years of experience as a Technician in automated assembly equipment, with two to three years in electronics, mechanics, science, or physics.**Minimum Qualifications:**- Must be 18 years of age.**Travel Requirements:**- Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time.**Physical Requirements and Work Environment:**- Work is conducted in a clean room environment.- The role may require prolonged sitting or standing, depending on the operated machinery.- Operators may need to use a computer or touch screen to enter work order data.- Must be capable of occasionally moving and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
