Top financial position for a women and minority owned public relations, brand, and content marketing agency Purpose Brands in Chicago. This is a part-time position and requires a person with a can-do attitude. Must be based in the Chicago area.This role oversees the financial health and wellbeing of our company. Tasks span from Bookkeeping to Controller. You will be responsible for tight cash flow management, an understanding of client profitability, sales forecasting, and expense management, required legal and business filings, financial inputs for Response to Proposals (RFPs) and improved business profitability. Other tasks include oversight of financial service agency's processing of financial transactions including payables, receivables, client invoicing, 1099's and preparation financial statements. Environment includes outside financial agency, tax accountant and payroll processing companies. This position is also involved in the financial preparation, review, and improvement of the financial submission to our RFP process and the subsequent documentation of the statement of work. You will also be responsible for the required certifications and licenses to perform work, these could be renewal or new approvals. This position often advises management of pending issues opportunities and potential options for solutions.You will also investigate ways to improve profitability and analyze business opportunities for profitability. This position requires experience to work independently and supervise other workers.Job DutiesReview and approve financial statements:Support for Purpose Brand to achieve its financial and operational goals.Identify opportunities to drive value by improving cost and profitability structures. Provides operational alternatives to achieve objectives. Creates an environment where the organization understands the financial goals and how to achieve them.Preparation of financial statements prepared by an outside service, this includes providing guidance on accounting decisions and structures, ensuring information is timely, accurate and can be used to make decisions.Approves finance operations such as accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.Partner with Sales to ensure the EBH ("Equivalent Basis of Hours" associated with each statement of work) is well executed.Periodic Client profitability analysis integrating findings from previous work. Projects the impact of pricing decisions, promotions, and staffing decisions on profitability. Structures information which can be used to assess resources and profitability of Clients during the project. This information is used to inform future resources and costs of future jobs.Operational reporting regarding operational objectives for contract compliance, revenue attainment and cost containment.Labor analysis reports for staff and contractor positions.Banking relationships, documentation, and all banking transactions.Job QualificationsBachelor's degree in finance or accounting; CPA a plus5-8 years of experience in accounting andor financial analysisAbility to synthesize large quantities of complex data into actionable information.Ability to work and effectively communicate with employees.Excellent business judgment, analytical, and decision-making skillsStrong demonstrated use of Excel, Word, Google SuitesAbility to work 3 days per week-remote
