The ideal candidate will possess analytical skills, process driven skills, and a solid understanding of accounting principles. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining financial records and preparing financial reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Our team operates on a flexible schedule within business hours, and available hybrid options.Position SummaryYou will play a pivotal role on our finance team, by collaborating and assisting in various accounting tasks. This position develops and maintains accurate financial records and identifies trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for growth. Prepare and file monthlyquarterly state sales tax returns ensuring compliance with tax regulations and deadlinesMaintain accurate and up to date customer tax exemption records, vendor W-9's, and vendor certificates of insurance Manage and maintain third-party sales tax reporting toolReconcile assigned general ledger accounts ensuring their accuracyAssist in maintaining corporate credit card accounts ensuring their accuracyPrepare various financial reports and analyses as requiredCollaborate with accounts payable as a back up when necessaryAssist in the preparation for month-end and internalexternal audits by providing documentation, reconciling accounts, and addressing auditor inquiries in a timely manner.Prepare & distribute weekly sales reportsKnowledge & SkillsIn-depth understanding of GAAP, sales tax, and multi state tax regulationsAdvanced in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and ERP systems; Concur and Avalara experience preferred.Effective communication and interpersonal skillsHigh attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask with efficiency.Strong problem-solving skills.QualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent number of years' experience required.
