Our business model aligns all stakeholders and focuses on investing in growth technology companies in California and the Southwest.Role DescriptionThis is an Arizona-based full-time on-site role for a Vice President of Accounting with a Portfolio Company of Finaventures, located in Tempe, AZ. The Vice President of Accounting will be responsible for overseeing financial statements, utilizing analytical skills, managing finance operations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Certified Public Accounting (CPA) credentials are required for this position.Responsibilities:Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements including SOX.Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, including the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process and address any audit findings or recommendations.Provide strategic guidance and financial analysis to senior management to support decision-making and drive business growth.Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.Evaluate and improve our NetSuite accounting software and systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency and accounting automation.Monitor and analyze financial performance against budget and forecast, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.Stay current on accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, and recommend changes to policies and procedures as necessary.Collaborate with other departments, such as operations, IT and HR to ensure alignment and support cross-functional initiatives.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA certification required.Minimum of 20 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.Strong technical knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.Proven track record of successfully managing complex accounting processes including consolidation, and leading high-performing teams.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic insights.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.Super Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and integrity.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities effectively.Experience with the NETSUITE ERP system and accounting software Prior experience in the Construction industry is a plus.Join us in our mission to promote the adoption of renewable energy and be part of a talented team dedicated to driving success and making a positive impact in the world.Extensive benefits, including Stock Options.No Relocation Package to Arizona.Background & License Check.Character & Professional References required.
