Fable's aspiration is to write the next chapter of what protein-based therapeutics can do.Description:We are seeking a talented individual to provide scientific & technical expertise in high-throughput biophysical antibody-antigen screening for drug discovery. In tight collaboration with our machine learning team, the expertise and data you provide will also be used to train state-of-the-art machine learning models. As an experienced technical expert in our growing group, you will have the chance to contribute to shaping the design of our screening and drug discovery set up, including contributing to critical decisions on infrastructure and automation.The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on expertise independently planning, implementing and troubleshooting biophysical binding assays and related instrumentation (e.g., Surface Plasmon ResonanceSPR, BLI, Carterra, Biacore, Octet, NanoTemper). Broad experience in other types of biochemical and interaction binding assays preferred (e.g., ELISA, AlphaLisa, TR-Fret, Bead-based, fluorescence, luminescence, flow cytometry). As an enthusiastic team member, you will have the chance to learn and collaborate with other bench scientists and with machine learning scientists (dry-lab) as part of our multi-disciplinary approach to discover and develop precision engineered drug candidates.This is an on-site role. Flexible working hours to promote a balance between productivity and wellness can be accommodated with manager approvalResponsibilities:Independently plan, implement and troubleshoot binding assays, for example binding kinetics measurements (SPR, BLI)Analyze and present data and conclusions to colleagues from a variety of backgroundsContribute to selection, planning and execution of a variety of laboratory assays for screening and characterization of candidate moleculesEnsure seamless access to own and others' data for machine learningCollaborate on project planning, strategy and executionHelp teach and mentor junior colleagues in your areas of expertise and experienceFoster inter-disciplinary understanding of biophysical data among machine learning scientistsCRO management as neededAbout You:PhD with 5+ years OR MSc with 10+ years.Demonstrated relevant industry experienceProven expertise with biophysical binding assays for a variety of purposes (e.g., kinetics and steady-state binding affinity, epitope binning, competition assays, ADA assays, others) and developed in different formats appropriate for the experimental goalsExperience with a variety of biochemical and interaction binding assays preferred (e.g., ELISA, AlphaLisa, TR-Fret, Bead-based, fluorescence, luminescence, flow cytometry)Experience with automation and liquid handling equipment for sample preparation and assay execution is strongly preferredStrong experience and understanding of antibody and biologics structurefunction and discovery and optimization workflowsStrong sense of initiative and interest in learning new technologies and addressing disease-relevant biologyEnjoy collaborating with diverse scientists in both the wet-lab and dry-labEnthusiasm for disrupting drug discovery with new approaches to data generation & curation to allow leveraging of machine learning technologiesAt Fable Therapeutics, we know that our people drive our success.
