This position can work from any of the following Teledyne FLIR office locations:Billerica, MAElkridge, MDWilsonville, ORJob Summary:The primary responsibility of the Contract Manager is to provide full life-cycle contract management to support Teledyne FLIR's Government and Defense Business Unit.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:Provide domain expertise in full-lifecycle US Government (Defense and Civilian Agencies), State and Local contract management regardless of contract type (Cost Reimbursable, Cost Plus, FFP, T&M, etc.)Act as focal point for contractual communications and commitments for assigned ContractsWork as a partner with Leadership, Business DevelopmentSales, Program Management, Proposal Management, Engineering, Finance and other disciplines to mitigate performance risk for both Requests for Proposals and assigned ContractsReview and administer contractual documents for accuracy, performance risk, and conformance with contract terms, conditions, and other provisions including applicable federal regulations and business team objectives prior to signature acceptanceAssure compliance with applicable federal regulations and internal policies and proceduresMonitor program performance for scope changes and take appropriate action. Manage, advise and support business team on issues developments relative to assigned ContractsReview Requests for Proposals and participates in preparing compliant proposal responsesNegotiate proposals within business goals and document substance of discussions, agreements and resultsRespond to internal and external inquiries regarding contract issues, audits and compliance requirementsRegularly communicate and document statusprogress of pending itemsGenerate supporting documents and materials, including Reps and Certs, NDAs, and BailmentLoan Agreements and coordinate with Legal as requiredBuilds customer relationships and knows customer needs and issuesProvides leadership, subject matter expertise and innovative recommendations to contracting or programmatic issuesSupports overall understanding of contract operations and enterprise objectivesJob Qualifications:Thorough understanding of Government contracts within the Department of Defense (DoD), as well as Civilian Agencies, and StateLocal entitiesBABS Degree with minimum of 5+ years contracting experience or equivalentThorough working knowledge of the FAR, DFARS and other supplementsWorking experience with DoD, Civilian Agencies, International entities, and FMSFMF contractingAbility to review and assess terms and conditions for risk and to draft and suggest alternative language to mitigate riskFamiliar with ERP systems and revenue recognition conceptsCore Competencies:Must possess a combination of strategic and tactical execution skillsetsA self-starter, capable of working well independently and remain self-motivatedNeed to clearly and succinctly be able to communicate both verbally and in writingAbility to express ideas freely and confidently in group settings and all levelsProven ability to set and achieve short-term and long-term goalsAbility to interact with internal and external customers on significant matters often requiring the coordination and collaboration of activities across organizational linesAble to think critically, assess risks and options, and drive consistency and risk mitigation through the lifecycle of a contractDemonstrates exemplary attention to detail and research skillsAbility to adapt to shifting priorities and goalsDemonstrated proven ability to initiate and successfully implement new ideas that increase organizational efficiency and support business objectivesAbility to mentor and educate others within team and across organizational lines.Limited domestic travel (approximately 2-3x per year) may be required to support customer contract meetings.Must be able to obtainmaintain a SECRET government security clearance, if required.Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.About Teledyne FLIR DefenseJoin Teledyne FLIR Defense, where we're dedicated to safeguarding lives with cutting-edge sensing and threat detection technologies.
