Dispatch Supervisor Route Planner Job DescriptionPrimary Responsibilities and Expectations:Execute company routing processes and proceduresSchedule and dispatch driver route assignmentsReview and modify routes to improve efficiencyProactively monitor location and activity of drivers to ensure deliveries are executed as plannedCommunicate with customers and drivers to manage service expectations and identify problemsReview and audit driver logs to manage DOT Hours of ServiceUpdate shipment data in company systemCommunicate with internal and external customers as needed via phone and emailConduct meetings with drivers to review previous day's activities including productivity, accidents, problems, results of any accident investigations, and to promote safety awarenessCollect information on incidentsaccidents that may occur and report to the safety teamOther duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written)Strong attention to detailStrong organizational skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced team environmentHigh level of competency with office computer systemsExperience with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)Self-motivation and ability to work independentlyStrong knowledge of local geography and highway systems where drivers will be operatingWorking knowledge of DOT and Hours of Service (HOS) regulations
