Please email your resume to Nabyla Feitosa at for immediate consideration!Job Summary:We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to support an 8th-grade male student with special education needs. The student is eligible for services under the primary category of Autism and the secondary category of Other Health Impairment. As a PCA, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the student's success by providing individualized assistance and promoting positive behaviors.Responsibilities:- Instructional Support: - Provide one-on-one instruction as directed by the teacher. - Assist the student in various areas, including cognitive development, gross and fine motor skills, feeding, self-help skills, and behavior control.- Health and Safety: - Maintain awareness of the student's environment and potential hazards. - Ensure the health and safety of the student, especially considering any physical limitations.- Personal Hygiene: - Assist the student with personal hygiene tasks, such as handwashing, face cleaning, toileting, and changing diapers or clothing as needed.- Behavior Management: - Monitor and manage the student's behavior in accordance with established guidelines. - Encourage appropriate behaviors, time management, and self-advocacy.- Collaboration: - Work closely with other specialists and educators to support the student's physical development. - Prepare the student for mainstreamed classes, ensuring a smooth transition.Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent.- Experience working with students with special needs, particularly those with Autism and Other Health Impairments.- Compassion, patience, and a positive attitude.- Reliable transportation (PCA will accompany the student to SHS for one math period daily).Schedule:- Monday to Friday, 7:45 AM to 2:45 PM (school hours).- Additional time required for accompanying the student to SHS (10:00 AM to 11:00 AM).If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of students and have the necessary qualifications, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding position.
