Project ManagerEngineerMembrane Technology & Research, Inc. (MTR) is a world leader in membrane separation technology. Our industrial separations business areas include the petrochemical, refining, power, and natural gas industries. MTR is a small company located in Newark, CA with additional sales offices in Belgium, and China. MTR manufactures membrane materials in our Newark location and designs gas separation systems to utilize membrane separation technology for our customers. MTR is working on exciting new carbon capture technologies and is looking for a highly motivated project manager to work with our team of talented engineers and researchers in the MTR carbon capture division. This project manager will be responsible for managing our new carbon capture projects. Job responsibilities include:Define and manage the project scopeCreate and manage project schedules using Microsoft Project to ensure each project is completed within the given timeframeManage the project budget with regards to project resources, equipment purchases, and outside contractorsManage changes in scope and design including cost, resources, and scheduleSpecify, review andor comment on process equipment sizing and selection including gas blowers, compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and othersGenerate, review andor comment on technical documents such as P&ID, process flow diagrams, general arrangement drawings, 3D models, and othersManage resources from different departments within the company Manage external contractors and EPCs from an owner-project manager's perspectiveCreate a Project Charter, Statement of Work, Work Breakdown Structure, and Project Closeout Plan for each projectReview, negotiate and approve terms and conditions with outside contractors and suppliersIssue purchase order requisitions and manage delivery progress of purchased parts and equipmentContinually monitor and report on project performance. This includes creating monthly project update reports for all stakeholders within the companyManage all incoming and outgoing project documentsLead project meetings with internal and external stakeholders. Create and distribute meeting minutesJob Requirements:8-12 years of industrial project management andor technical experienceBachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineeringStrong communication skills (verbal and written)Organized and timely on all aspects of the jobAbility to work in a team settingAbility to work remote effectivelyExperience in risk identification and managementStrong familiarity with common process design practices and related engineering elements (process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, instruments and controls, general arrangement of equipment, etc.)Experience in managing projects over $10 millionMastery of Microsoft Project, Word, and Excel programsPreferred Requirements:PMP (Project Management Professional) certificate or equalExperience in the power, petrochemical, refinery, or natural gas industryExperience in rotating equipment (fans, compressors, and pumps) industryExperience resolving project issues in the field, participating in HAZOPs, and assisting with commissioning activities on industrial systems. Salary RangeSalary ranges for MTR positions are dependent on the level of education and number of years of relevant experience the candidates has, and what other MTR employees in similar positions with a similar skill set are earning. We estimate the range for this position to be between $130,000 and $140,000.We are an AAEEOVeteransDisabled Employer
