Litigation Associate (5 Years' Experience)Hendershot Cowart P.C. is seeking a Litigation Associate with a minimum of five years of experience to join our Houston office. The role will include special emphasis on commercial litigation from case inception, discovery and motion practice through mediation or trial. We handle everything from small business disputes to multi-million-dollar, high-stakes complex litigation and arbitration.Position responsibilities include:â— Analyzing, researching and drafting briefs addressing sophisticated legal issues on complex litigation, ranging from state and federal court motions to dismiss, summary judgment and motions to compel and appealsâ— Drafting pleadingsâ— Prepare discovery, briefing, and researchâ— Making court appearances for hearings and trialsâ— Participating in administrative hearings before OSHA, Texas Medical Board, Centers for Medicare Services and other state and federal agenciesâ— Attending depositionsâ— Conducting administrative hearingsâ— Conducting mediationsRequirements for consideration:â— Lead in evidentiary hearingsâ— Experience leading Temporary Injunction and Temporary Restraining Order hearingsâ— Good standing with the Texas State Barâ— At least 5 years of prior experience at a regional or national law firm or an outstanding local firmâ— Proven track record of experience in successful complex commercial litigationâ— At least 3 years of trial experienceâ— Lead in depositions of both fact and expert witnessesâ— Lead in mediationsâ— Practice in both State and Federal courtsFull salary and benefits based on experience.
