MedStar Health is looking for a PRN MRI Technologist to join our team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital (MGUH)!  As a PRN MRI Technologist, you will perform a full range of MR (Magnetic Resonance) exams in accordance with established protocols. Apply today and learn how MedStar Health can be your next great career move!  Primary Duties: Performs a full range of MR imaging procedures in a timely manner on all patient types as specified by protocol protocols utilizing identified scanners and in accordance with policies on Universal Precautions, safety, and waste disposal. The ability to perform venipuncture, the injection of contrast media, and nonnarcotic medication is required for effective diagnostic imaging and scanning. Must adhere to the direction, policy, and procedures as defined by the physician modality director.  Coordinates patient flow on assigned units to maximize productivity. Ensures that patient waiting times are minimized before, during, and after the procedure. Prepares exam rooms at the beginning of each shift and between assigned cases Reports initial impressions to the Radiologist and reviews the images before releasing the patient.  Completes all patient information and documentation on each case to include, including the processing and labeling of films, exam starts/stop times, patient billing, acquisition images on the PACS units and complete EMR (Electronic Medical Record) reports when equipment malfunctions.  Provides Emergency On-Call coverage and manages patient exams performed off-hours including arranging for teleradiology when appropriate, with an attending Radiologist. Cleans equipment and work area, wipes down assigned equipment between cases, and stocks and maintains supplies at identified inventory levels.  Assists the technical supervisor in the revision, development, and implementation of lab policies, in-service programs, and continuing education programs that enhance the individual technologist's performance and skills.  Qualifications: Vocational/Technical Diploma graduate of an AMA approved program of Radiology Technology (ARRT) or MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging). Associate's degree advanced certification in MR preferred. As part of their education, candidates must also demonstrate competency in didactic coursework and an ARRT-specified list of clinical procedures by completing competency requirements established for the discipline in which they are seeking certification and registration. One year hospital-based experience in MR preferred. ARRT Associates must be registered within 1 year from hire. ARMRIT (American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists) or ARRT; with advanced certification in MR within 1 year. CPR (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation) certification within 1 Year.
