PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITIONThis position is responsible for oversight and implementation of station ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) programs. Provide leadership and strategic focus to all facets of the ALARA programs including performing and presenting business cases for program and site needs in collective radiation exposure (CRE) reduction. This position requires travel to various Constellation facilities. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIESPrepare, implement, review and monitor metrics for ALARA plans, including estimating dose, work group involvement and procedure implementation in accordance with company procedure guidance for exposure reduction.Perform assessments, corrective actions, benchmarking, and job evaluations with regards to ALARA processes and practices. Implement fleet and industry best practices.Act as radiation protection subject matter expert in specific areas of responsibility such as refuel floor work, dry cask storage campaigns, online and outage ALARA planning and reporting, shielding package review, work in progress reviews. Mentor and aid in the development of employees ensure that industry knowledge and Radiation Protection standards are transferred and embraced.Perform observations on work evolutions at stations and document site performance. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSFour year technical degree in health physics or related science degree with 5 years professional experience in radiation protection ORTwo year technical degree in Health Physics or related science and 6 years of experience in Radiation Protection ORIn lieu of degree, four years as qualified ANSI Rad Protection Technician, or at least eight years Radiation Protection related experience in a nuclear power facility. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSIn depth knowledge of plant systems and operationsNational Registry of Radiation Protection Technologists certification (NRRPT)Certified Health Physicist (CHP)
