With over 80 professionals, our firm has seen substantial growth, presenting numerous opportunities for mentorship, career advancement, and skill development.Overview: As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with tax regulations, minimizing tax liabilities, and providing strategic tax planning advice. You will be responsible for overseeing tax filings, managing audits, and analyzing financial data to optimize tax strategies. This position requires a strong understanding of tax laws, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex tax matters effectively.Key Responsibilities:Tax Compliance:Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and other entities.Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns to meet regulatory deadlines.Research and interpret tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and minimize tax liabilities.Review tax provisions, credits, and deductions to optimize tax strategies and minimize tax risks.Tax Planning and Strategy:Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize the company's overall tax burden.Provide strategic tax advice to clients or internal stakeholders on various business transactions, investments, and financial decisions.Analyze financial data to identify tax-saving opportunities and recommend appropriate strategies to maximize tax efficiency.Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to proactively advise clients or internal teams on potential impacts and opportunities.Audits and Reviews:Manage tax audits and inquiries from regulatory authorities, ensuring timely responses and resolution of issues.Conduct internal reviews and audits to identify areas of improvement and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.Collaborate with external auditors to provide necessary documentation and support during financial audits.Client Management and Communication:Build and maintain strong relationships with clients or internal stakeholders, serving as a trusted advisor on tax matters.Communicate complex tax concepts and strategies in a clear and concise manner to clients, management, and other relevant stakeholders.Respond to client inquiries, provide guidance on tax-related issues, and address any concerns or questions effectively.Qualifications:Proficiency in preparing financial statements for compilations and reviews.Handling complex individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns.Contributing to tax return processesStrong financial analysis abilities, including balance sheets and income statements.Proficiency with tax software such as CCH ProSystems FX tax, QuickBooks, Excel, and/or RIA Checkpoint is advantageous.A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in public accounting with a tax specialization is required.A bachelor's degree in accounting is mandatory, while a master's degree or enrollment in a program to obtain one is desirable.CPA licensure or active pursuit of licensure is a plus.
