Interop Lab TechnicianPortland, Oregon- onsiteOverview:The Interop Lab Technician will be responsible for day-to-day activities associated with the development and maintenance of the Alliance's interop devices within an interop lab setting which includes member facing tools (i.e., test harnesses, reference devices, etc.), and other member-related technical support activities.Job Duties:Interoperability Testing (primary role)Conduct interoperability testing with wired (Ethernet) and wireless (802.11, 802.15.4) IoT devicesHelp maintain and configure interoperability devices on the networkBug reportingHelp clients (members) in configuration and debugging of network devices.QA testing of internal web applicationsHelp with general organization and inventory related to the interop labInteroperability Test plan and test configuration triageTechnical Events (backup role)Support test event activities and recording of activity to meet Alliance requirementsLeverage Alliance events as source for interop tools feedbackAssist in pre and post-test event activities related to the interoperability tools being used at the eventProvide technical interoperability support to the Certification and Testing Team of the AllianceMember / Non-Member Communications (backup role)Provide technical support to members relating to official Alliance interop test events and testingProvide technical support to members relating to Alliance processes and to non-members regarding the Alliance servicesAdditional ResponsibilitiesSpecial Project Support, as requested.Qualifications and experience:The ideal candidate will exhibit the following attributes:Qualifications and Experience:QualificationsDemonstrated knowledge of wireless communication principlesKnowledge/experience with IEEE 802.15.4 based protocols and/or ZigbeeKnowledge/experience with Internet Protocol (IP) v4 and v6ExperienceTesting of wired and wireless network devices.Knowledge of Wireless Networking and ConfigurationExperience in capturing network traces (i.e. Wireshark)Experience in Linux, Windows, and MacOS Operating SystemsExperience in test plan execution and bug reportingExperience in Quality Assurance testing (Black box and White Box) for hardware devicesExperience in Quality Assurance website and application testingTesting Equipment configuration and debuggingInventory ManagementExperience of working with a small teamExperience with web-based applicationsStrong communications skills and customer facing experienceSelf-starter and thrive in a fast-paced environmentExperience working/collaborating across a geographically diverse team
