1) Make laughter a priority
Laughter releases endorphins that are important for overall health and happiness, and humor can get you through some of the toughest situations, in life and at work. If you can learn to laugh with your co-workers, you find life to be even more worth living. Don’t be afraid to engage in spontaneous humor when something funny happens at work, and share jokes and humorous stories that you come across with others in the office (as long as they aren’t offensive). If you do this, chances are other employees will begin to do the same.

2) Do something nice for someone
This can mean giving a compliment, sharing candy or another edible treat, or simply asking how your co-worker’s weekend or evening was. Showing interest in others will take the focus off of yourself and any pressure you could possibly be feeling with your workload, and in turn will allow you to be a more fun person in the workplace.

Approaching the workday will seem way more overwhelming if there is no break in sight and your scenery will not be changing all day. It’s important to take a few breaks, walk around and get some fresh air. Talk to someone on the phone, or treat yourself to ice cream or coffee. It will help clear your mind so you can come back to your desk more focused.
