Job Description:

Overview Responsible for transporting several types of construction equipment and materials throughout and between jobsites Responsibilities * Load and unload equipment and materials * Secure loads, is aware of load limits (weights) * Vehicle and equipment maintenance * Haul counterweights for cranes Haul water, sand and gravel * Ensure safety procedures are adhered to at all times * Communicate equipment and material issues between the office/shop/jobsite * Daily inspection of truck * Obtain required permits * Maintain a safe driving record * Handle basic maintenance of the truck including filling tank with gas, checking oil, keeping it clean and making sure required inspections are performed * Advise Superintendent if trucks need major repairs and maintenance * Other duties as assigned Qualifications EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: * High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred * One year certificate from college or technical school and/or one to two years related experience * Previous experience with transporting construction equipment and materials * Valid Class A Commercial Drivers License KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: * Take reasonable care of your own and others health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Wanzek's Zero Injury principles * Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos * Write simple correspondence * Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization * Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals * Common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form * Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized MasTec, Inc. is an equal employment opportunity employer.
