UBHC's 1,060 experienced behavioral health professionals and support staff are dedicated to treatment, prevention, and education. UBHC, one of the largest providers of behavioral health care in the country, has a budget of $260 million and has 15 sites throughout New Jersey. In addition, UBHC is the primary mental health training resource for the New Jersey departments of Human Services, Children and Families, and Corrections, delivering 16,000 trainings each year. Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Per Diem Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for Outpatient Services within Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care. The primary purpose of the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is to provide direct care, wellness counseling, perform treatments and proceed within established guidelines. Facilitate appointments and liaison with Primary Care Providers Among the key duties of this position are the following: * Observes and reports relevant behaviors, including response to interpersonal, intrapersonal and extra personal events and ability to meet basic needs. * Demonstrates knowledge of consumer's individualized treatment, goals, physical health and nursing care directives. * Participates in and contributes to the establishment of a consistent therapeutic environment in keeping with the needs, treatment goals and nursing care directives of each individual. * Responds appropriately to physical, psychological and environmental crises in order to maintain safety. * Performs direct consumer care utilizing Standard Precautions, in order to maintain safety and infection control. * Observes, reports and documents consumer progress in relation to specific aspects of treatment planning goals and related nursing care directives.
