Job Description Collin County is seeking candidates for the position of Truck Driver (CDL). This position transports equipment and/or materials within Collin County supporting the Public Works department. Currently, drivers work Monday through Friday from 7:00am - 3:30pm with Saturday and Sunday off. If you are interested in a Truck Driver role, but do not yet have a Class A CDL license, Collin County offers on-the-job training in our Maintenance Specialist role with the opportunity to earn your CDL license. ABOUT THE JOB Truck Drivers with Collin County's Public Works department transport building materials and equipment to various locations within the County. Operates light equipment by driving rollers, backhoes, loaders, and other equipment used in the construction and maintenance of roads. Maintains County vehicles and equipment by inspecting safety fluid levels, filling fuel levels, ensuring the proper operation of electrical systems, monitoring tire pressure and tread wear, and cleaning debris from inner and outer surfaces. Maintains shop area, installs and maintains culverts, removes trees and shrubs, and controls traffic while on site. Performs other related duties as required. WHO WE NEED: The ideal candidate will have a valid Texas Class A CDL Driver's License with one year of experience, a level of education equivalent to four years of high school (or equivalency), and the ability to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes.
