Summary This position is located in the Cass Lake IHS in the Bemidji Area. The purpose is to provide professional Emergency Department nursing care to patients in the ambulatory care & inpatient hospital setting. This requires licensure as a Registered Nurse & experience as stated in OPM regulations. The incumbent will rotate shifts as needed, which may include; 8, 10 or 12 hour shifts, days/nights and every other weekend. Basic Requirements for the GS-10 Grade Level At least one full year of professional nursing experience (equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level or above) and possession of a diploma, associate degree, or bachelor's degree in Nursing from a professional nursing program. Examples include: Assessing and determining acute states that result in an emergency; recognizing potential changes such as fluid and drug side effects; recognizing and intervening in acute life-threating conditions, cardiac and respiratory management in medical, surgical, and obstetrical patients in the emergency room; interpreting data regarding the patient's status to identify the care needed; independently plan, schedule and provide comprehensive nursing care in the Emergency Department.
