We create transportation solutions-building and operating safer, smarter, and more sustainable roads-to solve pressing transport challenges.About the role:We're seeking an on premise, virtualized Linux Infrastructure Engineer to support and maintain the Transurban infrastructure, ensuring efficient operations and business needs are met.You'll join an innovative team, who provides proactive management of all servers and related infrastructure, all while documenting the operations of the Information Technology (IT) Infrastructure.As our Infrastructure Engineer, you'll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities. It's meaningful, challenging and exciting work.Day-to-day, you will:Proactively identify, diagnose, document and eliminate IT Infrastructure problems that cause or may cause system Incidents.Contribute to the development, review, configuration and testing of IT Infrastructure.Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for the Service Desk end users in a timely and accurate manner.Work with 3rd parties (if appropriate) to execute any planned changes to the environment.Ensure security management, including threat and risk analysis is performed against any relevant vulnerabilities.Execute capacity planning, including Identification and resolution of capacity.Manage risk to infrastructure availability and performance.Actively contribute to the continuing development of architecture, processes, procedures, standards and methodologies.Perform routine and ad hoc administration on the Infrastructure systems.This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferable skills and experiences, including:3+ years' experience with Linux, including Red Hat and its derivatives (centOS, RHEL, RockyOS) and Ubuntu.Experience in shell scripting and manipulating the Linux command line.Experience providing Linux Administration support or engineering infrastructure support.Experience implementing and deploying infrastructure end-to-end infrastructure and systems from scratch.Manage core subsystems and services including storage, DNS, email, VMware clusters, and backups.Experience with Linux automation platforms such as Ansible.Experience with automated Linux patching platforms such as Satellite or LandscapeStrong customer service ethos and track record of delivering to customer requirements.Demonstrated experience in development, implementation of software systems, applications, and related products.Previous experience working in an operational 24*7 environment.Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.If you meet some of these requirements, but not all, we encourage you to submit your application.With a career at Transurban, you'll enjoy a range of benefits, including:A competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, life, STD and LTD insurance and retirement plan.A range of flexible working and leave options, including the option to purchase an additional six weeks of leave each year.16 weeks paid parental leave (regardless of gender or carer status).Learning and development opportunities to support your career interests.Health and wellbeing support-access to Headspace, Ginger, wellness facilities, and more.Social activities, community give-back programs and paid volunteer days.It is Transurban's policy to maintain a work environment in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity.
