Join our team. #CloroxIsThePlaceInterested in learning more about this job Scroll down and find out what skills, experience and educational qualifications are needed.Your role at Clorox:This position is part of the Molding, Innovation, & Design Services Team which supports internal and external molding operations, designs proprietary equipment, oversees the project Document Management System, and develops and deploys digital tools to the larger engineering community. These digital tools help to enable faster, right-first-time project delivery and includes digital twins, modeling & simulation, 3D printing, asset management, and reverse engineering.The Senior Engineer is responsible for developing solutions in plastics processing, including injection molding, blow molding, film extrusion, and thermoforming. This is an expert-level role that requires in depth experience designing and implementing molds and machinery both within the Clorox network of manufacturing sites as well as with vendors and external manufacturers.As Senior Engineer, this role will require collaboration on multifunctional teams to determine equipment design requirements, plan and execute the selection of equipment and development of purchase agreement contracts, and support the installation and qualification of said equipment. Project work may require travel and is expected to be 25-40% of time as dictated by work assignments. This person will also take on responsibility for the life cycle management of Clorox owned assets located at external sites, including budgeting, auditing, and managing a database and reporting tools.In this role, you will:Use Clorox engineering standards and processes, develop equipment drawing packages related to the design, functional changes, and improvements of manufacturing systems. Define, lead, and critically review design work from outside engineering firms providing detailed engineering feedback and technical leadership. Lead all aspects of and insure successful fabrication and assembly of equipment design packages. Train & Qualify 3rd Party Designers on Clorox equipment and drawing design standards.Subject Matter Expert (SME) - available to mentor and provide guide design analyses/recommendations to the larger engineering team, including in the areas of molding, tool design and fabrication, and manufacturing systems.Meet with clients and design teams to determine applications and requirements.Participate in project teams as a subject matter expert on plastics processing technologies.Staying on top of the latest advancements in technology, design trends, and engineering standard processes.What we look for:Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology.A minimum of 5 years of experience as a mechanical engineer.Proficiency with engineering design programs such as AutoCAD, Inventor, Emulate3D, Cyclone Register 3D, and Autodesk NavisworksIn depth knowledge of plastics processing and tooling, including injection molding, blow molding, extrusion and film blowing.Creativity with a shown history of developing equipment solutions from the form and function requirements proposed by the plant and R&D.Experience with lean manufacturing techniques and principles. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Outstanding time management and interpersonal skills.Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.Attentive to detail and critically minded.Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
