Assistant Director of EngineeringJamaica Hospital Medical Center has a full opportunity for an Assistant Director of Plant Operations/Engineering with managerial experience leading a unionized engineering staff within a healthcare/hospital setting. This is a career mobility opportunity for a manager in engineering to step up to a leadership role.Do not wait to apply after reading this description a high application volume is expected for this opportunity.The Assistant Director of Engineering will provide support to the Director of Engineering in all aspects of the physical plant, and all buildings that are under the scope of Jamaica Hospital Medical Center.Oversees the staff and activities of General Maintenance and coordinates o/s contracts as required. Develops and implements performance improvement program. Guides staff in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating services.Serves as the engineering subject matter expert, using professional knowledge and experience to troubleshoot site specific issues, including plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, pneumatics, and other related systems.Builds and maintains productive work relationships with staff, management and leadership resource to operational departments ensuring optimal collaborative care and service.Develops and implements performance improvement program. Guides staff in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating services.REQUIREMENTS:5 years of progressive leadership experience in a unionized hospital engineering/plant operations environment and the supervision of staff, construction, utilities, building and maintenance of equipment.Associate degree preferredNYC Refrigeration Machine Operators license required.Certified Energy Manager preferred.Current knowledge of and ensures compliance with all regulatory and professional standards of care which includes ASHRAE, ASHE.Five years' experience in the management of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to include oversight of reports, staffing, and productivity for work order completion and Preventative Maintenance (PM) completion to meet the needs of the facility.PC Proficiency in Excel, Word and working knowledge of engineering apps required.
