Bright Power works with property owners who have loans through the Fannie Mae Green Loan program and helps them meet their utility data reporting requirements.The Benchmarking and Compliance Tenant Data Intern will research, review, and request whole-building or individual apartment authorization forms and utility data required for compliance. The Benchmarking and Compliance Owner Data Intern will review, store, and integrate property owner-paid utility data required for compliance. These positions play a crucial role in ensuring the success of the entire program.Primary ResponsibilitiesCommunicate with utility companies to submit documents, request tenant data, and troubleshoot ongoing requestsResearch utility companies' policies for data releaseConduct quality assurance of utility data sources and authorizations from external clientsPrepare, transfer and store documents to ensure high standard of accuracy and organizationTroubleshoot and communicate issues relating to data access and qualityEnsure accurate and efficient integration of utility account data into our systemsCollaborate with team members to improve workflow processesContribute to other projects as neededSkills/QualificationsExcellent communication and writing skillsComfortable speaking on the phone and writing emails to external partiesStrong attention to detailAnalytical and problem-solving skillsExperience with spreadsheet-based programs -- Microsoft Excel or Google SheetsSelf-motivated and self-organizing direction -- this position works with an end deliverable for a client that has many moving piecesAbility to work well in a team-oriented environment providing ideas and open feedbackPreferred QualificationsCandidates with a bachelor's degree in science, engineering or similar technical field are preferredExperience in the real estate, energy efficiency, renewable energy, sustainability or building operations worldExperience with utility bill dataIntermediate knowledge of ExcelExperience with cloud-based CRM platforms -- SalesforceExperience with Energy Star Portfolio Manager, especially for Multifamily Buildings and CommercialWhat you get out of working at Bright PowerOpportunity to learn about energy management, working with utilities and utility data, and sustainable buildingsFull-time position at $17 hourly salaryTraining in utility benchmarking and industry-standard software toolsNetworking with leaders across Bright Power's business units, and connections to leaders in the building and energy industry8 hours of paid time off per monthBe part of a team that is hard-working and driven, but doesn't take itself too seriouslyBenefitsIn addition to working with incredible people, Bright Power offers competitive benefits.
