Create your own impact by building solutions that help make lives safer, smarter and more sustainable.Scroll down the page to see all associated job requirements, and any responsibilities successful candidates can expect. Join our Services AME team within Services division in United States as Mechanical Supervisor to help us take Turbo Services to the next level.  See what it is like to work at Sulzer Turbo Services this role you will be accountable for:Manages and oversees projects as assigned by the Mechanical Department Manager in accordance with Sulzer guidelinesSupervises and directs Mechanical Department personnel to ensure quality, efficiency and timely completion of assigned projects (including administration of personnel aspects, time-keeping, PTO requests and scheduling, attendance issues, discipline issues, etc.)Observe Company Safety Policy and Procedures; follow and support all STS Safety Policies and ISO ProceduresProvides ongoing on-the-job training of Mechanical Leads and Department personnel Guide and direct the Leads to assist in managing projects, purchase orders, TWI's and working with outside servicesAssists with technical updates within the Mechanical Department Responsible for filing pertinent information such as releases, reports, issued drawings, purchase orders, emails, special instructions, material analysis, etc. in the electronic project job folderResponsible for the continued development, maintenance, and upgrading of procedures and job work instructions applicable to machinery repairs in the interest of quality and efficiencyServes as Project Manager (when assigned) on projects that involve multiple departments and/or divisions during repairs on centrifugal, axial, and screw compressors, steam turbines, gearboxes, and hot gas expandersDevelops detailed repair recommendations/scopesOriginates and maintains a project job binder for the Mechanical DepartmentWork closely with the Mechanic Leads to ensure adequate As-Received / Final Detailed Inspection Summaries associated with assigned projects are developedWorks closely with Core Estimating group to ensure accurate hours and material cost of assigned projects Works closely with the Mechanical Department Manager to ensure that the department has adequate tools to safely and efficiently repair mechanical equipmentWorks effectively and professionally with Customer Representatives on assigned projects; including: telephone consultation, and/or communications by email or faxWorks closely with the Mechanical Department Manager to ensure that Mechanical personnel are properly trained in all aspects of their jobsOriginates and coordinates the procurement of outside services, materials, and parts with the purchasing department in an efficient mannerCoordinates personnel overtime requirements with other department managers and supervisorsCoordinates, communicates, and works with personnel from other departments in a professional mannerImproves and maintains ability on Company computer applications as required to effectively perform the duties of the positionMaintain LEAN objectives within the department To succeed in this role, you will need:Engineering Degree plus at least 1 of year hands-on mechanical experience or a minimum or 5 years of hands-on mechanical work experienceKnowledge and understanding of turbo machinery repairExperience leading teams in an industrial setting.  Working Time:Start time range is 5:00 am - 6:30 am.
