Mechanical Engineer - Industrial EquipmentPlease ensure you read the below overview and requirements for this employment opportunity completely.Location: Downers Grove, ILType: Direct HireSalary: $80,000 - $95,000 (Experience-dependent)We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the team in Downers Grove, IL. As a Mechanical Engineer in Machine Design your primary responsibilities would include:· Lead the design and release of mechanical projects· Apply sound engineering and machine design principles to design custom engineered equipment· Create/modify/update all mechanical drawings and BOM's· Analyze existing designs and provide recommendations for improvements· Mentor other engineers and designers on best practices for machine design· Perform independent site inspections and supervise equipment installation· Participate in brainstorming and design reviews· Deliver projects on time and within budget· Work with shop assembly personnel in troubleshooting & debugging of equipment· Assist in the checking of drawings and analyze tolerance stack ups· Assist in developing engineering and drafting standards· Issue and complete ECO'sRequirements· BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Degree is not required)· 3+ years' experience designing industrial equipment· Driven and ambitious personality with attention to detail· Creative, innovative and forward-thinking approach to engineering design· Excellent problem solving skills in a team-oriented environment· Understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, welding and general fabrication· Machining/fabrication background is a plus· Field experience, customer site audits and experience supervising installations is a plus· Strong CAD 2D and 3D proficiency required, Inventor is preferred· Experience with GD&T is preferred· FEA experience is a plus· 15% availability for travel, including some weekends and international opportunitiesNote: Direct hire position.
