Position Summary:Looking for a Ride Engineer II to be based in El Cajon, CA with the following job responsibilities.Increase your chances of an interview by reading the following overview of this role before making an application.Position Responsibilities:Manage field tuning exercises and ride performance of various Fox applications spanning from internal aftermarket applications to OE testing with external customers.Manage external relationships and projects with large OE customers.Utilize and improve on vehicle data acquisition methods to assist in dynamic vehicle tuning.Calculate and setup theoretical vehicle starting specifications (springs, damping curves, etc.) for various vehicle use cases.Drive a wide range of vehicles on and off road safely and consistentlyOperate shock dyno's and interpret characterization data to assist with vehicle tuning practicesRebuild a wide range of Fox shocksSpecific Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required:Proficient PC skills required: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, 3D ModelingAbility to use Matlab, VB, or any other programming language that would benefit data processing and analysisAbility to subjectively evaluate passenger vehicles dynamically and make educated tuning decisions on vehicle setup to achieve project target goalsAbility to perform extensive hands on work by rebuilding shock absorbers, operating shock dyno's, driving vehicles both on and off roadDetailed on road subjective evaluation skills.Off road driving skillsAbility to manage testing events with external customersCompetencies:Customer Mindset: Exceptional customer experience is primary focus while performing job duties. Willingness to work with others and coach/teach in effort to develop and support other employees' development.Position Qualifications:Education:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fieldExperience: 5+ years of vehicle dynamics engineering experienceAutomotive field shock absorber tuning experienceOn vehicle data acquisition and general wiring/electronics experience preferredManual lathe, mill, welding, fabrication experience preferredExcel and basic CAD experienceOff road driving and vehicle recovery experienceWork Environment and Physical Requirements:Office/Test Lab/Field (Desert) EnvironmentAbility to sit or stand for long periods of timeVision abilities required to validate and enter data on computerMay lift up to 50 lbs.
