Boutique trial attorney firm in Charlottesville seeking an experienced paralegal to jump into a fast-paced environment and driven team to work in all aspects of a trial practice for attorneys who practice throughout the state.We are a two-attorney, three-paralegal personal injury firm with a large client base and extensive referral source network. Most cases are for medical malpractice with a mix of auto, premises and other personal injury, legal malpractice, and defamation.Requirements:Balance between attention to detail and ability to juggle moving pieces in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication and writing skillsMicrosoft Office proficiencyPrior personal injury paralegal experience strongly preferred. Prelaw applicants welcome.Job Description:Draft demand lettersDraft written discovery with clients and attorneysDraft pleadings and memorandaPerform medical and legal researchCoordinate with expert witnessesTrack all case deadlines and ensure their completionSchedule depositions, hearings, and trialsInterview prospective clientsOrder and review medical recordsUpdate clients and referral sources on case statusAssist with professional extracurriculars and committee workOpen to other tasks and responsibilities according to preference of the candidate and demonstrated success on the jobTraining and mentoring is provided on the latest trial practice management software and all aspects of litigation paralegal work.Our office is steps away from the Downtown Mall with parking provided.
