Job Description:

Summary:Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the incumbent candidate coordinates business transactions with shipping companies and facilitates smooth distribution activities in the warehouse. Responsible for staff, facility operations, customer engagement, and assure all JT Logistics procedures are followed. Supervisory Responsibility:The General Manager supervises the operations management and supervision, forklift operators, customer service representatives and any additional general labor (i.e. PickPack Staff).Essential Job Functions:Operations Management (35%)Ensure adherence to production schedule by warehouse staff to ensure proper work priority.Coordinate work activities of management team, supervisors and employees to maintain efficient workflow.Forecast daily workloads and plan staffing accordingly to manage labor resources efficiently!Maintain efficient use of warehouse space to reduce inventory movements and to increase efficiency.Review and request equipment, materials, or supplies required to process orders.Oversee maintenance of work equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to ensure proper and safe functioning. Transport goods within warehouse and inout of delivery vehicles via forklift or pallet jack.Ensure safety programs, workplace sanitation requirements, policiesprocedures, and established departmental operations are followed by staff and comply with federal, state, and regulatory agency requirements.Assure facility is maintained and is operating at optimum.Recordkeeping (5%)Cross check item quantities receivedshipped against shipping orders and notify staff of inconsistencies. Maintain records of products received and stored using scanners and manual checklists.Customer Service (30%)Communicate with client on key performance indicators (KPI's)Maintain daily communication with client concerning all aspects of their business.Manage client requests and escalations in a timely manner.Supervision (30%)Recruit, hire, train, coach, and evaluate performance of operations staff.Assign and prioritize duties and projects for departmental staff members. Manage daily time tracking for assigned staff.Coach, counsel, discipline, and terminate direct reports and site staff in accordance with company petencies:Attention to detailAdaptabilityflexibilityStrong planning and organizational skillsGood spatial orientationStrong driving skillsGood written and oral communication skillsStrong leadership and training skillsWMS, LMS, YMS competenciesEquipment: Stand up forklift, electric pallet jack, handheld scanner, two-way radio, computer, and cell phone.Safety:Follow JT Logistics safety policies and procedures.Special Conditions of Employment:Employment is contingent on successfully passing pre-employment background check and drug screening.Position involves traveling various distances in the United States to help open newly owned or leased warehouse sites and includes working for extended periods of time (typically several months at a time) at such sites.Qualifications: B.S.
