Our Company:Diagnostic Pathology Medical Group (DPMG) an independently owned, multispecialty pathology group, has been a leader in delivering quality services to hospitals, clinical laboratories, research institutions and other physician specialties for over 80 years. We are looking to add a 5th PA to our current team of 28 pathologists and 4 PAs. Role Description:This is a full-time on-site role for a Pathologists' Assistant under the supervision of the pathologists. The PAs assist in the preparation, examination, dissection and gross description of both hospital and outpatient specimens, assist with intraoperative consultations and frozen sections and perform postmortem examinations. Our specimens span the full spectrum from biopsies to complex cancer cases. The incoming PA will be working with a dynamic team of PAs with experience levels ranging from new graduates to more than a decade of experience. Given our high volume, range of sub-specialties and services, DPMG is a great place to broaden your skills and expertise as a PA. Qualifications:1. Bachelor's degree in Pathology, Biology, or related field is required. Completion of a Pathologists' Assistant program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) is preferred.2. Successful completion of the ASCP Board of Registry Exam for Pathologists' Assistants or successful completion of a structured Pathologists' Assistant training program approved by the ASCP Board of Registry is preferred.1. 1-2 years' experience working as a Pathologists' Assistant is preferred, but not required.2. Strong verbal and written communication skills.3. Ability to work well with others and handle stressful situations.4. Ability to perform detailed work accurately and consistently.5. Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects. Compensation and Benefits: 1. Salary range: $125,000 - $170,000 annually based on experience2. Health and Dental Insurance3. Birthday Holiday Work Locations:Specimens are grossed within a centralized lab as well as one on-site hospital location, both located in Sacramento. Minimal travel between the two locations (less than one mile apart) may be required on a rotational basis. Sacramento is at the hub of all that Northern California has to offer. Work Schedule:Monday - Friday, shift TBD. No on-call or weekend shifts required. ASCP Certification Requirements:For new graduates ASCP certification must be obtained no more than one year after completing a NAACLS-accredited training program.
