Methuen Construction is seeking an experienced Superintendent to join our waterwastewater treatment facility construction team. This is a full-time, salaried exempt position, and travel is primarily limited to Northeast jobsite locations. This position is responsible for the oversight of other teammates.The Superintendent is responsible for leading, managing and monitoring the successful execution of projects on time, within budget, and safely with oversight of foremen, trades, and subcontractors on waterwastewater, federal, or other heavy industrial facility construction projects. Your RoleProject, recommend and review labor needsMotivate, engage and mentor teammatesSupervise Foremen, trade crews, and subcontractors for execution of projectWork with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Foremen to facilitate and coordinate construction project plan, ensuring all preconstruction and construction submittals and documentation are provided to client timelyActively participate in turnover meetings as required in order to understand the overall project approachParticipate in the implementation of a Rapid Deployment ProgramWork with team to identify safety risks and project approach to create a plan, ensuring safe execution of work, and provide continuous safety oversight and enforcementWork with project team to develop a project scheduleCoordinate with project team to ensure all required subcontractors and vendors are under agreement timelyInterpret contract drawings, specifications, and submittalsWork with project team to establish, maintain, and track adherence to project budgetEnsure proper oversight and retention of documents relevant to projectMonitor and track timely fabrication and delivery of products and equipmentKeep accurate notes, records, sketches, daily reports, and field books to describe and verify the planned work; as well as the completed work that will be incorporated into the project's record documentsResearch and recommend solutions to drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences, safety, budget, schedule, technical conflicts, quality control issues, and client and teammate satisfaction, along with input by the project management teamProject, encourage and monitor actions of self and team to ensure a positive image on behalf of Methuen ConstructionAll other duties as needed and assigned by managementWhat You Bring to the TeamAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingStrong commitment to safety, the team environment, customer satisfaction and quality controlPrompt and accurate judgment with the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems as they ariseExcellent time management skillsProven ability to excel in a fast-paced environmentYour Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is preferredFive years of experience as a Superintendent on similar projects, preferredExperience with project planning and scheduling, contracts, and project controls and procedures preferredExperience andor background in Civil Engineering disciplines, water, wastewater and heavy industrial process systems highly preferredIntermediate use of entire Microsoft Office Suite requiredWork EnvironmentPhysical DemandsAbility to lift a minimum of 50-60lbsAbility to stand for extended periods of time, and safely maneuver around the nearby presence of various construction equipment and vehicles, on an active construction sitePrepared to regularly encounter moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and a variety of outside weather conditionsAble to climb temporary or permanent stairs, and laddersAble to bend, squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, balance and stoop, reach on a regular basisSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focusEssential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Voted one of New Hampshire's Best Companies to Work For, Methuen Construction is widely recognized as the most successful, self-performing general contractor in the industry with experienced Project Managers, Superintendents, Estimators, Project Engineers, Safety and Quality professionals, in addition to a variety of other operational teammates and support teams.
