Building on our expertise and leadership in radiopharmaceuticals, Actinium is rapidly accelerating our investigational research efforts and is looking for talented scientists to join the team.Job OverviewActinium is seeking an experienced and skilled laboratory research associate to actively support the Company's promising R&D strategy for the development of novel cancer radiotherapeutic agents and related technology. The qualified individual will have 3 to 5 years prior experience in an academic or industry lab setting performing in vitro and in vivo experimental research studies. The candidate in this role is expected to support preclinical drug discovery and pharmacology studies in rodents and be proficient in oncology animal modelsDuties and responsibilitiesPerform IACUC approved small animal experiments including in vivo mouse cancer modelsAdminister drugs by multiple routes including IV, IP and SCTumor volume and body weight measurements, tissue and blood collectionMouse monitoring and housekeeping (e.g. cage changing)Assist with ordering of reagents and laboratory suppliesAssist in maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies; coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs as neededEnsure that safe laboratory practices are followed, including the use and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materialsCollect data, prepare and maintain detailed records in a laboratory notebookWrite protocols and study summary reportsCommunicate study findings to team and managementQualificationsMinimum qualifications required to successfully perform the job are:Bachelor of Science degree: Biology, pharmacology or related field3-5 years of lab research experienceExperience handling small animals and in vivo procedures is requiredExperience in the handling and use of radioactive material is desirableExperience in mammalian cell culture is desirableExcellent organizational skills, detail orientedStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work in a team settingLocationNYCTravel requirementsNone
