Senior Counsel - Commercial Real Estate RedevelopmentAre you a seasoned legal professional with a passion for navigating complex real estate matters? We're seeking a Senior Counsel to join our team and lead high-stakes projects in the realm of commercial real estate redevelopment. In this role, you'll be responsible for drafting crucial legal documents, advising on real estate transactions, and representing our corporation in legal proceedings.Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid - report to office 3 days per week)Responsibilities:Handle redevelopment, land use, entitlement, and permitting mattersGuide the subdividing process with precisionConduct thorough title and survey reviewsSupervise local jurisdictional land use counselNegotiate development and joint venture agreementsReview and draft REA, easements, and other property documentsOversee construction and AIA contractsManage leasing and subleasing activitiesProvide insightful interpretation of leases and real property documents to support business strategiesQualifications: Juris Doctor with at least 6 years of commercial real estate experienceStrong expertise in land use and redevelopment, preferably in retail real estateProven ability to identify and mitigate risksExceptional project management skills with a track record of meeting deadlinesPrevious experience in both law firm and in-house settings preferredAbility to thrive in autonomy, handle challenging negotiations, and exercise good judgmentExcellent analytical and communication skills5-10 years of relevant experienceMinimal travel required (less than 5%)Benefits:Comprehensive health insurance coverageGenerous PTO allowance401K retirement savings planIf you're ready to join a reputable company that offers competitive benefits and compensation packages, we invite you to submit your resume today.
