Downtown commercial litigation boutique seeks Paralegal. Our firm is involved in cases in various state and federal courts, as well as in domestic and international arbitration forums. Each case presents its own set of unique and interesting facts and procedures. We are not a form-based practice. We do go to trial. We are a hands-on, client focused, successful trial firm that needs your skilled support.Ideal candidates have 5 to 10 years of experience:Independently drafting basic correspondence, pleadings, motions, and discoveryHandling complex filings in state, federal, and corresponding appellate courtsWorking with court clerks, case managers, court coordinators, and other court staffIdentifying relevant documents in large document databasesPreparing for hearings, depositions, mediations, and trialAttending and supporting hearings, depositions, mediations, and trialKeeping time and maintaining billable hoursIdeal candidates will also exemplify the following characteristics:Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environmentProofreading skills with minimal grammatical errorsHighly organized with attention to detailRequire minimal oversight in projects and assignmentsProactive in identifying dates and recording deadlines and case managementCompetent in Microsoft 365 products and other litigation softwareAppreciation for confidentiality in handling client documentsSpecial Consideration given to candidates with experience in litigation databases such as IPRO Eclipse, Relativity, Disco, or Logikull. Experience with TrialDirector and trial presentation a plus.SHJ can offer you: Competitive salary, 401k, annual bonus and other benefits. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree andor paralegal certification strongly preferred.
