We believe in educating the whole child, nurturing not only intellectual growth but also their social-emotional development and sense of responsibility to their community.  Job DescriptionCity View Charter School is starting our preschool in the fall of the 2024-2025 school year. The program would serve children ages 3-5, following our school calendar. We are looking for an experienced Preschool Director to oversee and manage the program. The Preschool Director would be responsible for implementing City View's vision, mission and expectations that are demonstrated in our preschool-day operations. The Preschool Director will supervise the lead and assistant teachers of the program and ensure a safe and enriching environment for students during the preschool program. This job description is meant to provide structure to the responsibilities and accountability of this position. There may be additional responsibilities that a Director takes on or that are assigned as the needs of the students and preschool arise. The Preschool Director reports to the Executive Director.Required Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's  in Early Childhood Development or related field3-5 years of experience working with early childhood2 years or more of experience supervising a team of employeesCommitment to learning and teaching through the EL Education instructional modelCPR & First Aid certificationFood Handler's PermitStrong leadership and administrative skillsProficient written and verbal communication skillsMaintain integrity of confidential information of students and staff Ability to lead a team and collaborate productivelyResponsibilities of the Preschool Director Include: Basic Duties and Responsibilities:Management of daily operations of the preschool program Lead the preschool staff program in collaboration with the Executive Director or DesigneePlan, organize and supervise programs for the students in the preschool programFoster positive relationships with preschool staff, parents and staff of the preschool and CVCSAdministrative responsibilities include tracking the billing of the program, budgeting for costs of the program, maintaining a clean and organized space of the preschool. School Culture:Build a classroom community that effectively communicates the HoWLs (Habits of Work and Learning-Compassion, Collaboration, Perseverance, Integrity and Excellence) and EL design principles in order to maintain a physically and emotionally safe environment.Encourage staff and students to have developmentally appropriate discussions on diversity and equity.Implement school-wide behavior expectations by collaborating with teachers to uphold policies, creating behavior plans when necessary and knowing the correct support channels within the staff. Professionalism and Responsibilities:Develop and deliver agendas for preschool staff meetings, student meetings, and professional development with punctuality, preparedness, and engagement.  Collaborate with school wide teams to create plans to best serve students, better instructional practices, and share successes. Connect and incorporate families into the classroom. Provide consistent communication throughout the school year via in person, email or online applicationsEncourage and provide opportunities for in person family involvement such as volunteering and school wide events. Other Professional Responsibilities:Maintain the integrity of confidential information relating to students, staff, and school operationsMaintain regular and punctual attendanceFollow all City View protocols for reporting absencesFollow all City View policies and work proceduresParticipate in required meetings and trainings related to the positionDemonstrate professionalism when working and communicating verbally and nonverbally with students, parents, and school personnel from diverse cultures andor backgrounds Cultivate and model a respectful working and learning environmentCoordinate and attend events such as parent education and open housesWorking Conditions:Collaborate regularly with CVCS administrators and other members of the preschool teamMaintain emotional control under stressWork with frequent interruptionsFill in as needed Follow City View policies, work procedures, and reasonable requests by proper authorityCompensation Package:This position would be full-time for an average of 40 hours per week. The hours would be 8am - 4pm, M-F on a 12-month calendar.
