Job Description:

Job ResponsibilitiesPromote and champion Zero Harm and Zero Waste initiatives and culture across all plant operations and personnelAssist and act as a resource for department supervisors in identifying hazards and ensuring continuous compliance with all internal and external safety regulations and requirementsCoordinates all plant safety training and maintains training matrix ensuring completion and compliance of those training programsResponsible for all safety related policies, procedures, and programs for the plantResponsible for developing and implementing facility wide on-the-job (OJT) training programResponsible for compiling and maintaining all SOP updatesInteract with employees and take a proactive approach to safety related items at the facilityLead plant safety committee and participate on any safety subcommitteesTake lead on all safety inspections and auditsAssist in maintaining the Responsible Care 14001 Program including participating in the auditsResponsible for safety data entry into FOCUSAct as the back up for the Environmental CoordinatorResponsible for managing sustainability initiativesQualificationsBachelor's Degree safety or related degree required1-2 years of safety experience in an industrial setting preferredStrong organizational, communication and analytical skills with the ability to use basic computer softwareKnowledge in the areas of OSHA regulations and safety management is preferredTeam player, ability to set priorities, analyze problems, work independently and manage time effectivelyKoppers Inc. and its subsidiaries are equal opportunity employers.
